THRIVE INITIATIVE IN JACKSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Jackson Junior High School has been recognized as an Asset Building Campus for their involvement with THRIVE beginning with the 2006-2007 school year to the present.  This year, we are proud to also include Jackson High School and Jackson Middle School as Asset Building Campuses!  Some of the things that Jackson R2 schools have done to build assets include:

  • Developing and supporting a student advisory committee that is dedicated to building assets on all 3 campuses
  • Offering asset training to JJHS faculty during Professional Development training in 2006
  • Hosting a Change of Heart Retreat in 2008 and allowing 6 faculty members to become trained facilitators in the curriculum
  • Partnering with THRIVE to send 3 faculty members and 5 students to the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Conference in Minneapolis MN in 2008
