Central Junior High School was our pilot school during the 2006-2007 school year and continues to be recognized as an Asset Building Campus! Some of the things that CJHS has done to build assets include:
- Sending 2 faculty members to a Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Conference in 2006
- Offering continuing asset training opportunities for staff
- Developing and supporting a student advisory committee that is dedicated to building assets on campus.
- Posting an asset category on the school’s marquee each month
- Including asset messages on each student’s report cards
- Hosting a Change of Heart Retreat in 2008 and allowing 6 faculty members to become trained facilitators in the curriculum
- Creating a Parent Advisory Board
- Partnering with THRIVE to send 1 faculty member to the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Conference in Minneapolis MN in 2008
