5 Ways to Build a Caring School Climate
- Adopt the motto 40-24/7! (40 Assets, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) Commit to INTENTIONAL asset building and stick with it!
- Look for students who seem disengaged and find a way to connect with them with positive peers and adult role models.
- Find opportunities for youth to teach others (even adults) about something that interests them.
- Smile! It makes everyone seem friendlier and more approachable.
- Communication and relationships are important. It is easier to develop both if you haven’t already passed judgment on the other person.
