This month, our focus is Developmental Asset #1*: Family Support
Family life provides high levels of love and support.

Category: External Asset
Subcategory and Icon: Support and red heart

Nationally, 68% of youth report having this asset.

9 Creative Ways to Build Family Support

Do something new together. Instead of a walk, go jogging…or skipping.

If possible, eat at least one meal a day together.

Choose a book to read together as a family. Each day read 10 pages.

Ask about the highs and lows in your child’s day. Tell about your day.

Every day show love through hugs, words, and smiles.

Frame your child’s artwork and hang it on the wall.

Give your child space to think, rest, and rejuvenate.

Lie under the stars and talk about whatever crosses your mind.

Write “family care” resolutions and keep them!

SPREAD THE MESSAGE
You can help spread the asset message in our community! Please add the following message as an e-mail tagline for the month.
